On the 13 May 2016, Padraig Walsh, the president of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, distributed a note to ENQA members that included the latest news on decisions taken within the Association. The purpose of this note is to inform the member agencies about the activity of ENQA held throughout the year and to improve the communication between the agencies and the Council.

In the Note, the President announced that during the meeting in April, the members present at the General Assembly approved the Council's decision to grant the status of affiliate member of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Professional Education (ANACIP), Moldova.

This status has been granted also to Danish Evaluation Institute (EVA) and to other two newly created agencies: MusiQuE (Music Quality Enhancement) which has taken over all quality assurance activities previously headed by AEC (European Association of Conservatories) and Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education in Cyprus, which has assumed the responsibilities of the CEEA (Council of Educational Evaluation and Accreditation).

In this Note, the President has reviewed the events and activities that will take place soon. Members and affiliates are encouraged to express their interest in hosting events and meetings (such as trainings, workshops, seminars, etc.) as it is a good principle when agencies share hosting responsibilities. It should be noted that representatives of agencies offering to host such events should not be undergoing an ENQA review.

The 2016 General Assembly will take place in Gloucester, United Kingdom, on 20-21 October. Representatives from agencies who are interested in presenting examples of challenges or good practices, or those who are interested in sharing some aspects of their work which other ENQA members and affiliates may find interesting, are encouraged to contact the ENQA Secretariat.
